1.
we weren’t short on arguments a grocery list of miscommunication promises I couldn’t hold across the pond, like skipping stones let two years pass and split the difference never knew what to make of you never knew what to feel for you I want to be on opposite ends of the couch reading our latest obsessions with our legs intertwined, your toes tickle my side just ten thousand words and you
2.
you change yourself like others change clothes hang it on the wall when you get home now you're no one, now you're a cat now you're no one, now you're a cat you're waiting for winter to come sewing with your needle, dreaming of home now you're no one, now you're a cat now you're no one, now you're a cat I'm a wolf in my dreams
3.
Bookcase 02:55
I don't know where we'll go I don't know what we'll take it's so hard to tell what percent is fantasy you know when it's wrong you know when it's right you know when it's wrong and this feels right I can't wait to fill out our bookcase I'm so scared of change I want everything the same but we'll make a new same that I'll want to stay it will be strange but one day it will be something I keep obsessively I can't wait to fill out our bookcase
4.
digging holes in our backyard, all we find are dead earthworms cut in half but they still move 'cause they've got too many hearts we'll bury them when we're done there's got to be some treasure hiding in the dirt old pennies from 1901 and five arrowheads we found by the pond this spot is made up of a hundred thousand foot prints that pack the dirt in everything gets buried under our heels so surprised to see them again we'll turn our house into a small town museum with all the things we find artifacts from stranger times, artifacts that no one remembers and nobody cares but we'll keep holding on
5.
if atoms are tiny galaxies, we destroy a million when we breathe but I guess that you make a billion more when you sneeze and you're the prettiest universe that I have ever seen I don't like to think about infinity, will someone please make it smaller for me and in the stars there'll be our own constellations that we have grown what do you want to make? if time is only relative, when are we right now? and is there a parallel me perpetually out of reach but one day I'll see? and in the stars there'll be our own constellations that we have grown
6.
it's time to start whatever this is we both know this used to be a mess and it still looks like that the dreams we had are destined for the trash but I just want to pretend, I just want to pretend we are all looking for something missing but more pieces fall off while we're searching it's time to start whatever this is got to pull my head out of the sand I don't want to know, I don't want to know we are all looking for something missing but more pieces fall off while we're searching we are all looking for something missing but more pieces fall off while we're searching it's a struggle to get the parts working always just reverse building
7.
Epilogue 05:15
each room I walk through is time travel a thousand memories cling to their walls I know that you'll go and I'll wait here epilogues can only appease for so long forever wonder where they are and where they go they hover out of reach just like a ghost that frail memories still try to grasp I know that you'll go and I'll wait here what is left when the credits roll? do they keep living or does the world end? do the stories die, but shine on like light from a dead star that we keep watching?
8.
I'm afraid of everything I can't stop my heart from fluttering I swear I'm having a heart attack I swear I'm having a heart attack I'm afraid of everything I can't stop my brain from worrying I bet this plane is gonna crash I bet this plane is gonna crash
9.
Box 06:16
we both know that we'll just end up in a box we've got time to kill until it's a genocide and we'll ask heaven's front desk how much for a second try? in a hundred years or so someone will dig us up and expose our bones to the sun they'll box us up and ship us out put on display in a glass case and flashes will go off every time someone peeks into our box everyone will want to know who we were and where we'd go with faces pressed to the glass they leave behind fingerprints moving on to something else whatever caught their eye and we'll wait right there for the next one to point and stare we don't look our best please just let us rest what we leave behind will have you scratching your minds but just make up shit if you want things you've never seen, functions that can't be dreamed is this ritualistic or just something pretty? and flashes will go off every time someone peeks into our box everyone will want to know who we were and where we'd go with faces pressed to the glass they leave behind fingerprints moving on to something else whatever caught their eye and we'll wait right there for the next one to point and stare we don't look our best please just let us rest
10.
it's not hard to drown on dry land it's not hard to drown right where you stand this isn't happening must be a bad dream and I hope your last thoughts were good there's a million strings tied to each of my cells pulling in different ways so tight I can't move at all i'll have to cut some off to get anywhere but if they all snap at once, where will I go?
