the ornaments are weighing down the branches, you can barely see the tree but you know it's there you can hear the lights humming not to mention the stockings with our names that our grandma made we're watching the same movies as last year, but we don't care one bit it's just as exciting and each night that comes it gets harder to sleep why don't you let me stay up? I wanna meet Santa Claus why don't we just stay up? I wanna meet Santa Claus the lights on the roof keep going out but if you hold the ladder I'll check each one so we can light up the neighborhood the neighbors won't get any sleep if I have something to say about it and each night that comes it gets harder to sleep why don't you let me stay up? I wanna meet Santa Claus why don't we just stay up? I wanna meet Santa Claus build a fort next to the tree leave the light on so I can see 'cause I don't think I'll be able to fall asleep why don't you let me stay up? I wanna meet Santa Claus

Snow Angels 02:10
got enough layers on, gonna go out climb the top of the mountain, now i'm the king of the mountain till you push me off slide down together and the snow is falling you move your arms, you move your legs i move my arms, i move my legs and our wings are touching, there's no place i'd rather be.
3.
Snowstorm 02:52
my coat pocket hides your hand keeps you from shivering it's much less risky to stay inside but we'll tread the snow side by side and as we walk sometimes we slide on thin ice and skin our hides we may break our backs but we'll be fine with blankets and bandages, wrapped up tight i'll keep you warm as possible the power's out, the trees are down safe refuge cannot be found we may have bit more than we chew thinking the storm would let us through we have to try and make it home or build an igloo and sleep till dawn ever since the dawn of time build a shelter, stay inside it's a fool that remains and dies nestled in a sea of white winter's coming, got to face it don't know which direction we're facing feet are cold, need a blanket got a feeling, but don't know how to place it days like this make you question the reason you live so far north of the equator but even still i can't help but love this 'cause in winter snow covers all the bull shit.

people are climbing up to make night lights from their homes and when they're one they show a safe way through the cold people are humming songs from their youth as we approach that day everyone's wondering why it can't stay this way we'll promise this month that the things that matter to us are actually things that matter, swear we won't forget by the new year we'll kill a nice pine tree, sure hope that it don't mind we'll dress it up nicely, he'll help to remind that some things don't freeze no matter how cold it gets will it last till new year's? place your bets don't count it out just yet i want to make some new traditions with you and when christmas comes we'll stay in our pajamas all day because we're not gonna get out of this bed without the promise of hot chocolate to keep us warm and alive in a season most things die and we'll remember throughout december to look for the best in each other because we get let down the rest of the year on christmas eve make me believe that this feeling can last.
5.
Gifts 02:58
I don't know what to get you for Christmas this year I hope I think of something good I want to make you laugh, I want to make you cry The good cry, not the bad one I hope I think of something good
6.
i'll pick out your favorite color yarn knit a scarf to keep your neck warm for when cold winds come down and the sun doesn't like to stick around but why stop there? i'll knit you into a cocoon and when the snow if falling down i know that you'll be safe and sound wrapped up so tight you can barely breathe like a present under a christmas tree we'll stitch up all the cracks the dry air leaves in our skin i'll sew you some new bones knit veins filled with hot cocoa you won't freeze at all and when the snow if falling down i know that you'll be safe and sound wrapped up so tight you can barely breathe like a present under a christmas tree protect your ears from frostbite prevent you hearing your family fight tangled in a blanket, just you and me like a present under a christmas tree
7.
Decorations 02:41
the decorations stay the same but we can't say that about the things we decorate something gets lost every year and when the end of December comes it doesn't feel like Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas anymore the surprises lack real wow replaced by stress and debt as we sink into the red magic's lost every year, melting on the lawn by salt thrown from passing cars it doesn't feel like Christmas doesn't feel like Christmas anymore when was the last time i couldn't close my eyes on this winter night, wake up at 6am on the dot, and race down the stairs? oh, one more time i want it to feel like Christmas i want it to feel like Christmas way back when
8.
Countdown 04:00
this resolution is wearing out dissolving like last year and the year before hang it up unfinished piled high like a snow bank melting under it's own weight counting down to the next year the snow weighs down the empty branches until they collapse onto the roof

the seasons change too fast I never know which way the water's flowing melting away into a tidal wave, or a glacier crawling my way carving the ground open wounds so beautiful hiding under snow hiding under sea will I drown or be crushed? the weight's the same either way...
